Please read these terms before you create an account. By creating an account you agree to them.
See also our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data.
HEYATELIER is an online directory for artist studios. You can reach us at contact@heyatelier.com.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “HEYATELIER” mean the operator of this site. “You” means the person using the site, whether as an artist or as a collector.
HEYATELIER is a directory. Artists create a page for their studio. Collectors browse those pages, message artists directly, and arrange visits.
We are not a gallery, a dealer, an agent or a broker. We do not sell artwork, we do not handle payments between artists and collectors, and we take no commission on anything you sell. Any sale, visit or agreement is strictly between the artist and the collector.
We do not verify artists, their work, their claims or their studios. We do not check whether a collector is genuine. Use your own judgement, exactly as you would with any other website that puts people in contact.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us at contact@heyatelier.com if you think someone else is using it.
One person or studio, one account. Do not create accounts on behalf of someone else without their permission.
Everything you upload stays yours. Your images, your text, your work.
By uploading it you give us permission to show it on HEYATELIER and to use it to promote the platform and its artists, for example on our own blog, in our emails and on our social channels. That permission is free of charge, worldwide and lasts as long as your content is on the site. You can end it by removing the content or deleting your account, although we may keep copies in backups for a while and in material that was already published.
You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not post work that is not yours, images of people who have not agreed to be shown, or anything unlawful, hateful, deceptive or sexually explicit.
We can remove content or a page without notice if we believe it breaks these rules or the law. If you think something on HEYATELIER infringes your copyright, email contact@heyatelier.com with the link and a description, and we will look into it.
Collectors can message artists through the site, free of charge. Use it for what it is meant for. No spam, no mass sales pitches, no harassment, no attempts to move people off the platform in order to scrape or resell their details.
We may read reported conversations in order to handle abuse. We do not read messages for any other reason.
When a collector buys work from an artist, that agreement is between the two of them. Price, payment, delivery, taxes, returns and anything that goes wrong afterwards are their responsibility, not ours.
We are not a party to those agreements and we are not liable for them. If a dispute arises, the artist and the collector settle it between themselves.
Artists are responsible for their own legal and tax obligations on what they sell, including any registration, invoicing and VAT or sales tax that applies where they are.
A basic artist page is free. The Studio Plan is a paid subscription at $9 per month, which adds an open studio calendar, participation in HEYATELIER Weekends, your exact studio address on the map, unlimited works, all your links, a long statement and CV, visitor statistics and a higher position in the browse listings.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
The subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep the paid features until then.
Your first 14 days. If the Studio Plan is not what you hoped for, cancel within 14 days of your first payment, email contact@heyatelier.com, and we refund that payment in full. This applies to everyone, wherever you live. We will ask what did not work for you. You do not have to answer, but it is the fastest way to get it fixed for the next person.
After that. We do not refund part of a month that has already started. Cancel whenever you like and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for.
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply in your country. If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal.
If you stop paying: nothing is deleted. Your open studio dates and any works above the free limit of eight become unpublished and stay in your account. Your exact address, extra links, long statement and CV come off the public page but remain stored. If you subscribe again, you can publish all of it again.
A HEYATELIER Weekend is an event where participating studios in one city open their doors on the same weekend.
Visiting is free and no ticket is needed. Taking part as an artist requires an active Studio Plan.
Artists who take part are responsible for their own studio: access, safety, insurance, and anything that happens to visitors or to work while people are there. We organise and promote the event. We do not run your studio and we are not liable for what happens in it.
We may change the dates of an edition, change which studios take part, or cancel an edition. If we cancel, we will tell participating artists by email as soon as we can.
When you create a HEYATELIER account we add your email address to our mailing list. We use it to send you platform updates and invitations to HEYATELIER Weekends. We never sell or share your address.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and one click removes you from the list. Unsubscribing does not affect service messages you need in order to use your account, such as a new message notification, a password reset or a payment receipt.
For more detail on what we store and why, see our Privacy Policy.
We aim to keep the site running, but we do not promise that it is available without interruption or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features at any time.
If we make a change that clearly reduces what a Studio Plan gives you, we will tell paying artists by email in advance, and you can cancel before your next renewal.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
We can suspend or close an account if it breaks these terms, if it is used unlawfully, or if it is used in a way that harms other users or the platform. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
If we close your account because of a breach, we do not refund the remainder of a paid period.
HEYATELIER is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost sales, lost profit, lost data or damage to reputation.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability towards you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or 100 US dollars if you paid us nothing.
The HEYATELIER name, logo, site design, texts and software are ours. Do not copy them, and do not scrape the site or collect artist or collector details in bulk, by any means.
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, for example to price, to payment or to your rights, we will email registered users at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that date means you accept the new version.
The date at the top shows when this version was published.
